defeat the last-minute resistance:

So, here’s a couple techniques to defeat the last-minute resistance: 1. The first is to envision your best-case scenario. So, in other words, flip the script. Let’s take a look. Instead of, “Oh my God, I might lose all my money or I may be working all the time,” how much more time would you have available? This is kind of when I tell people that I might have brunch on a Wednesday at 11 A.M. They say, “Oh, I’m so jealous. I wish I could do that,” and in my head I’m thinking, well, you could, but you might not be prepared to go through what it took me to get here. Same thing is true of – I invite friends out for happy hour at 4 P.M. or, in my case, 2 P.M. sometimes, and the same thing is true. But, the benefit for you, if you flip the script, is how much more time would you have available – not only for fun, but for your clients? How much more free would you feel? Go back to that survey I told you about in the first or second slide of this lesson. Overwhelmingly, people wanted to earn more money so that they could eventually quit their jobs – very, very important. 2. Another way to do it is to actually ask yourself, hey, I’ve got these concerns and last-minute resistance items that are coming up in my head. If I were operating at 100%, if I were at my best, how would I deal with these things? For example, “If I’m not making enough money, how would I deal with it?” not, “Oh my God, what if I don’t make enough money?” If I were at my best, how would I deal with earning more money? If I were at my best, how would I handle family that’s upset?
