self compassion


Take a few deep breaths. Put both hands over your heart feeling the pressure and warmth. As you breathe, repeat to yourself: "This is suffering." "Suffering is a part of life, all people suffer." "May I be kind to myself." "May I forgive myself." This is simply acknowledging something universal and redressing the automatic negativity bias by wishing ourselves well and moving toward forgiveness. May this be a time of healing for you with a sense of openness and hope for the year ahead.
